The hike up the hill

On Friday 29, instead of wandering in Yale, I went wandering in New Haven; I went on a hike and we reached a place up on a hill with a beautiful view!

Talking about beautiful views, we also saw a deer and a small cute chipmunk!
(and also a wide range of insects, but I personally do not consider them a very nice view...)

Yale Law School

 Today we went to the Yale school of Law building;

it was so huge, we had a lot of fun in the auditorium and we spent like an entire hour wandering around the library surrounded by law books of every possible type...

I stumbled into a section of the library full of law books regarding Aeronautics and Astronautics, I was so impressed! I didn't even know that books like that existed!

Well, maybe what they say is true; maybe you can really find something enjoyable even in places like schools of law (I know it's hard to believe; I still personally can't believe that I've actually written something like that; I'm really thinking about checking the content of this morning's coffee (: )

Secret Societies

Secret Societies

Yesterday, me and my new blogger friends were wandering to Yale... well, not exactly wandering, though.
We were looking for secret societies!

it is narrated that within the fancy buildings of Yale and New Haven there are many hidden secret societies.

We did some research and finally reached the buildings of two of the most famous ones: Scroll and Key and Books and Snakes

Unfortunately, the doors were locked; but maybe we can find another way of entering them...(maybe just by leaving a message (: )

Sterling Library's Architectural Surprises

Wandering in the Sterling Library of Yale, I found a strange engraved image, that appears in the shelves every time there is a door in the library.

Could it be like a coded mysterious sign?

Or maybe a secret button you have to press while saying the right word in order to make the door become a portal to another dimension?

Or maybe just a depiction that the architect did near a door because it was bored, and then had to replicate near all the doors because otherwise it would have to make up a story to justify the presence of it...

Here there is the foto of the depiction...

...and here there is my (a bit weird, since I'm very bad at drawing :) ) sketch of it.

 My first impression of Yale.

When I got there on Saturday afternoon, a little bit jet-lagged and a lot tired because of the 10 hours and a half of flight, I was very impressed by the fact that the campus was so huge, and I kinda got lost since I wasn't able to find out which buildings belonged to Yale and which one were instead normal buildings of the city of New Heaven.

I then went to my room, so excited to start the new experience, and in entering the Saybrook college I felt like I was part of some film or TV series.

The day after I had my first classes, they were a lot mind blowing, but we ended up with a lot of homework to do, so me and the other classmates met at the library and studied together, alternating study, laughs and funny comparisons of the same words in our mother languages :)

The scavenger hunt

Some days ago we had to do a scavenger hunt for one of our afternoon classes. We went to a lot of interesting places of Yale and New Haven,...
